Then, we’ll add some discussion on different styles of Rosemaling based on the geography of the region and the artists who painted different styles. We’ll discuss the “hallmarks” you find in those styles and then will paint a small project from one of the styles discussed each week.
One week we will discuss Telemark, Hallingdal, Agder, and Os styles and paint a Hallingdal project. The other week will be Trøndelag, Gubrandsdal, Nordfjord and VIksdal and we’ll paint a Trøndelag project. So if you are a beginner, advanced beginner, or someone who has painted in the past but would like to brush up on skills and start painting again, this course is for you. We will be painting in oils, but acrylic painters will also find this information very helpful. Plus, you’ll be in the company of like minded people. Nordic Canvas Folk Art Studio

I first saw Persgard’s work on a Vesterheim folk art tour. There was trunk of his on the second floor of a farm building. The colors were rich and vibrant and he seemed to love huge black dots at the end of his linework.
Together we will explore the work of Sevat Uppheim through looking at pictures of his known works, sketching elements of his style, working out his colors, doing a bit of painting, and marveling at his creative genius and extraordinary detail work.
