November brings a winter chill in the air! Warm up with beautiful colors on the palette at Vesterheim's after-school Rosemaling Klubb for kids. There will be projects for the beginners and new projects for returning students.

Have you ever wanted a pair of clogs decorated with rosemaling? Join us for a weekend of rosemaling on leather! Bring a pair of new clogs, or breathe new life into old ones for yourself or as a gift. We will paint a pair of clogs and a purse, and have time for additional projects including anything leather or vegan leather – boots, purses, wallets, belts, dog collars, photo albums, journals, anything you have at home on hand, or would like to bring.

Students will be assisted with choosing their own color scheme based on their clogs and leather items. The focus will be on Telemark scrolls and line work as the basis for the designs, flowers, and motifs. A freestyle Telemark design will be demonstrated, and patterns and additional examples will be available. We will also visit the Vesterheim collection to draw additional inspiration from the designs used in embroidery and bunad handwork.
