Kim Garrett will be teaching a Setesdal bowl project. This class will guide students through painting both the inside and outside of a shallow bowl. It is the perfect project for those who have not painted a bowl before, and a delightful design for those who want to develop their skills more.

The class will be on Friday from 6:30 – 8:30pm, Saturday from 9am noon and 1-4pm, and then Sunday from 1-4pm. We will transfer our design together (Friday), work on our inside design (Saturday), and then plan out and paint our inside and outside borders (Sunday).

As a special extra, Patti Goke will present a short history of the Setesdal style Friday evening and show us additional finishing options on Sunday.

In this class, students will explore the Agder designs of southern Norway. You will discuss style differences between the regions of Vest Agder, Setesdal, and Aust Agder and then complete a project of your own designed by the instructor. This course is best for an advanced beginner and up, basic rosemaling knowledge or painting skills are needed.

Instructor-created designs will be sent by mail until 2 weeks before class starts. After that any new registrant will receive the designs by email.

THIS COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT IN OILS. If you wish to use acrylics you are welcome to attend but the course will focus on painting in oils.
